Topic : Waiting Visions,Important Choices
Verses: Deuteronomy 29:29, Isiah 25:7, Joshua 24:15
Everyone is born with a vision, a desire to impact the world in a great way. Take note i used the word Vision not dream, they seem alike but are very different. A vision is a clear thought or idea dropped into your spirit or is had in a semi-trance state much like a revelation of sorts but a dream is had when one dwells on one’s desires to the point where reality is blurred.
Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV);
” And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
Visions move mountains and shape destinies but they require preparation. Before you build a house you must take stock and prepare for the cost. It might seem hard but everything in life is a choice, do we sacrifice the now’s for a better future or spend your future today leaving nothing for your future self? ( the very thinking that inspired the “YOLO – You Only Live Once” mentality).
In all this there some very important questions.
What Vision Does God Have For Us?
How Do We Know What It Is?
What Choices Will Get Us There?
God’s vision for everyone of his children is to have a life full of joy, victory and every good thing just like any Father would desire for his own but whether we are willing to be patient and trust in him is a matter only we ourselves can answer. Everyone has a vision within them, our choices now determine how close we are to it or how far away we are moving away from it.
Choices like giving our life to Christ, living not for ourselves anymore but for God and doing the will of God..even if it’s unpopular. The importance of choices could be seen in the life of Joseph in the Bible. He had a choice to enjoy now while under his master’s roof, being seduced by his Master’s wife was a test but he knew his vision was greater than that home and so he did the unpopular thing by running away. He choose to respect God’s wishes on the issue of sin.
Hebrews 12:2 (KJV);
” Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Paying the price of today he secured his tomorrow which was to eventually rule the land of Egypt. A series of choices led him there and they were not easy he could simply have remained a head slave in a single home in Egypt but his difficult choice made him to rule Egypt.
Visions require obedience to God, It keeps it on track and brings it’s fulfillment speedily.
Giving also releases visions as in the case of Solomon’s Sacrificial giving.
1 Kings 3:4-5 (KJV);
“4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
5 In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.“
