Weekly Message: Identity Crisis

Topic : Identity  Crisis

Verses: Hosea 4:6, Psalm 82:5-7, Malachi 3:10, Ecclesiastes 11:5, Mark 11:22

From the moment we are born, we know deep down that we are running a race. To where, most probably don’t know and don’t care and then somewhere down the line we start to care after we’ve spent years chasing the wind. Missing the God given time and using our talents to do as we please which always ends in futility.

If we don’t know who we are in Christ, then we cannot manifest all that we were meant to become which makes us run this life race blindly, which leads to us forgetting who we really are.

Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV);

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

It seems pretty far-fetched but if we can believe the earth is round and floats in space with no strings holding us in place then what makes this any different. The simple fact that you have accepted Christ to be your Lord and Saviour makes you very special in a sea of souls.

1 Peter 2:9 (KJV);

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

….And because we have been chosen we need to work on becoming better. Study to show yourself approved of God, to also gain knowledge of what we are truly capable of. Knowledge is power as the popular saying goes, knowledge gained can never be lost and accrues to you as a weapon. The world is a battle field, it’s truly folly to stand on a battle field with your eyes closed believing you will not fall victim and that is what plagues most Christians; Lack of Knowledge.
– we need to study the Word of God to show ourselves approved of God by understanding his Word.

Even as we run the race, we will doubt, we will have moments of loneliness but through it all we can be assured that we are running the right way. As the world is so infinitely complex that we are yet to even scratch the surface in understanding it so also is God, we may not know it all but we surely know that all things work together for our good  and that is what faith means.

May his abundant love abide with us always. AMEN.

Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV);

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
