“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Weekly Message: Access to God Through Love

Topic : Access to God Through Love

Verses: John 3:16-17, Romans 5:8, Psalm 24:7-10, Matthew 27:51, 62

Love. The singular most powerful gift and weapon by which we have been saved, even before we were born. The fall of man cut the line of communication between man and God and we can all see and feel first hand the effects on the world.  This was a serious problem and the solution was not going to be easy but it had to be done, and we can see the solution in John 3:16-17.

 John 3:16-18 (KJV);

” 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

The death of Jesus on the cross of Calvary, broke the hold of the devil on man and gave us first hand access to God again. The symbolic tearing of the veil in the inner sanctum of the Holy Temple in Israel on the death of Jesus was a sign that everyone could become sons/priests unto God and connection with God had been restored. It was no doubt a miracle as the veil would have been roughly 60 feet high (18m) by 30 feet wide (9m) wide by 4 inches (10 cm) thick.
Man no longer needed to use the blood of animals to ask for forgiveness, now the Blood of Jesus would be the final and perfect cover that would allow us worship God directly.

Matthew 27:51 KJV;

“And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent.”

His sacrifice was in compassion at our discomfort and pain from being separated, the ultimate gift. By the grace of the Holy Spirit we can now live sin/bondage free, but we are not to take his sacrifice in vain or lightly. The grace we now experience enables the Holy Spirit to dwell in us, to comfort us, empower us and minister the hidden things of God to us as we now are his children.

Ways to Strengthen God’s Love
To access his presence daily, we need to live a sin free life.
– We need to trust God completely and absolutely. Hebrews 11:6

Benefits of divine access
– Opening our spiritual eyes; Luke 24:45
– Gives room for repentance.
– Divine empowerment; Luke 24:49
Hindrances to God’s overflowing love
– Sins, in every way.
– Spiritual laziness i.e Neglecting to pray, reading Scripture, not using God-given talents.
– Insensitivity to The Holy Spirit/ Refusing to acknowledge the Holy Spirit.

May his abundant love abide with us always. AMEN.

Weekly Message: Help From Above

Topic : Help From Above

Verses: Psalm 121:1-3, Psalm 20: 1-2, Psalm 66:18, Psalm 24:8, Hebrews 4:15-16

In this journey of life, anyone would readily agree we can’t fight all our battles on our own no matter how tough you are physically, it’s no gaurantee of victory and the truth is many try to do so on their own without help and surely fail. The bible lets us know that we have ready and waiting help in every situation if we can only ask for it.

 Psalm 121:1-3 (KJV);

”  I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Being a christian/Child of God automatically gives us the grace to call for help in any situation and we will receive it but as with anything in life there are conditions. Just like when the military send their troops out to battle, support, medicare and supplies are sent when SOS messages are received on the condition that they recognize the sender as one of their own.
When we have no relationship with God, only calling when we get into trouble there’s a high chance of our SOS message not being received or acknowledged because of lack of communication or hindrances like sin.

Psalm 66:18 KJV;

If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.”

This is why some people get angry or disillusioned about their faith saying when i need Him and called on him i got no help or answer. The question should be did you do the right thing to get a sure and speed answer. It might sound foolish to ask but reason this: If your phone batteries are dead can you make emergency calls? With the answer being no, you then cannot blame the police or ambulance for not coming to your aid when you need it the most.

There is nothing impossible, or too hard or too high or too big for God to do, he created the world and all within it. We just need to establish a direct connection to him by making Jesus our Lord and Personal saviour and letting the Holy Spirit fill our lives.

Romans 8:14 KJV;

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

Benefits of Being Sons/Daughters of The LORD
– He can fight our battles and we are assured of victory. Psalm 24:8
– He can uplift the poor and dejected. 1 Samuel 2:8
– He makes sinners become priests, 1 Timothy 1:15
– He takes over and we shall have peace. Exodus 14:14

May God gives us the grace to rely only on him and to stay always in his presence. AMEN.
